EMBRAZE Halt Band Activities, Pursue Side Projects
April 8, 2002Finland's EMBRAZE have decided to put all band activities on hold for an indefinite period of time due to the group's long-term discontent with their record company, Mastervox Records, and the continuous delays in the release of the band's recently-completed third album, entitled Katharsis.
Although the members of EMBRAZE will spend the next few months focusing on other projects, the band stress strongly that they are not breaking up and will reunite when the “time is right”.
Among the side projects currently being pursued by various members of the group is a band called FOR MY PAIN, who feature in their ranks EMBRAZE guitarist Lauri Tuohimaa alongside NIGHTWISH keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW bassist Altti Veteläinen, ex-ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW guitarist Olli-Pekka Törrö, REFLECTION vocalist Juha Kylmänen, and ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW drummer Petri Sankala.
FOR MY PAIN are currently writing material for the group's first full-length album, the recordings for which are tentatively scheduled to begin in May, with a late 2002 or early 2003 release date through Spinefarm Records being planned. A possible single release may precede the album in the fall.
